Jul 10 2018 GT couldve been considered canon til DBS slotted into the timeline before it and introduced concepts that would be impossible to explain in retrospect so no way is GT canon anymore. Super Saiyan 4 is also freakin awesome.

From what I understand GT is considered non canon because Toriyama worked on Super and there are some contradictions between Super and GT yada yada yada.

So Ive been a huge DBZ fan since I was a kid but only recentlt got around to watching the extended stuff Super last summer and Im about halfway through GT now. As for Dragon Ball Super its canon status was acknowledged since Toriyama provided story outlines for its arcs as well as character designs. Toriyamas never even directly said GT is non. If it was canon why didnt he just add it to is manga. It technically IS canon as Toriyama not only approved of its creation but he actually DID take a minor role in its development.
